The entire discussion is excellent, but this neologism - The Inhumanities - is destined to become famous: Kudos, Mr. Neal
Perhaps
greater clarity could be achieved in discussions of this nature if we
found another expression to differentiate between "the
humanities", in the classical, pre-progressive meddling, sense
of the term, and the postmodern sense that includes gender and queer
studies and other such mind-destroying drivel. Since the classical
meaning is the older it has the best claim to the title and it makes
more sense to find another term for the newer version. "The
inhumanities" suggests itself as the obvious choice.
