I gave my daughter a puppy
She named it Bobby Black.
Then a Facebook posting
Made her feel like crap
She learned she'd been bad
To gender a pet like that.
Maybe name puppy, It
Maybe name it, That
Just put it outdoors and hope it don't come back.
She tried to duck the problem,
Blamed it all on me
Bright and early next morning
She saw Bobby Black take a pee
She said
I'm keeping it's name
Causes its a boy puppy
So then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D.
Bright and early next morning
It came right back to me.
She wrote upon it:
Return to sender, address unknown.
No such person, no such zone.
This time I'm gonna take it myself
And put it right in her hand.
And if it comes back the very next day
Then I'll understand the writing on it
Return to sender, address unknown.
