Far less than meets the eye

Ecumenism is the Universal Solvent of Tradition .

Kneeling in a pew was an innovation and a break with Traditional Catholic praxis

On page 166 of Volume Two, The Mass of The Roman Rite, Joseph A. Jungmann the Jebbie, observed that for the first thousand years of Christianity (Catholicism) the posture was standing for the Canon and then averred That the circum is not to be construed as though the faithful had ever completely surrounded the altar. Rather, the picture intended is what is suggested by the structure of the old Roman basilicas, where the altar stood between the presbytery and the nave, so that the faithful - especially is there was a transept - could form a semi-circle or "open ring" around the altar.

Ought we return to the ancient praxis which was existence longer than the new praxis of pews which were a protestant innovation?
