Far less than meets the eye

Ecumenism is the Universal Solvent of Tradition .

ABS has left the park.

The proposal by ABS to refer to Vatican Two as The 60s Synod is based on several sources. Here is just one:

The infallible Ecumenical Council of Trent referred to its own self as a Synod:

The holy Synod enjoins on all bishops, and others who sustain the office and charge of teaching...

ABS believes some of the readers of this crummy blog have visited Orlando, Florida which means they may have visited Disney World and, perhaps, chosen to ride on Space Mountain.

That attraction has the passengers riding in the dark with flashing lights, with the great din created by the cars on the track nearly drowned out by the shrieking of the riders, with the shrieking of some indicating joy and the shrieking of others indicating fear but, collectively, indicating great chaos and confusion.

The ride has many sudden sharp turns and a rapid descent and in that way it resembles the ecclesiastical ride the 60s Synod has taken us on with the difference being that ABS chose to take his family on the Space Mountain Ride and it was a limited ride - it ended.

The 60s Synod has taken the family of ABS on a ride that he wanted no part of and it never ends.

In referring to the 60s Synod, ABS is putting it in its place - an endless ride for children - a sort of  It's a Small World ecclesiastic sempiternal nightmare focused on the world that drives adult men insane and ABS has awakened from that nightmare and wants no part of it.
